Our School...
Blue Grass Baptist Schools are private, non-profit, independent Baptist elementary and secondary schools, supported solely by tuition and tax deductible gifts from churches and concerned friends.
Blue Grass Baptist Schools meet the same curriculum standards as the Fayette County Schools in the academic areas plus a Bible course for each grade. All subjects are taught from a Christian and Biblical philosophy.
Blue Grass Baptist Schools are certified by the state of Kentucky and our students are accepted by state schools when they move or transfer.
All of the teachers at Blue Grass have teacher certification and are fully qualified both academically and spiritually to train our students.
Students meeting academic criteria and in conformance with behavior criteria are eligible for admission to Blue Grass Baptist Schools without regard to race, creed, or national origin.
Our History...
In September 1969, our school started with just 11 students in a kindergarten class at a local church.
In August 1970 we were incorporated under the name of Blue Grass Baptist Schools and expanded to the first grade. In 1971 our school grew to include kindergarten through fifth grade.
Our current classroom building was constructed in the summer of 1975. By the fall of 1978, Blue Grass Baptist was complete, with grades K-12; and in the spring of 1979, had its first graduating class. Pre-school was included in 1983.
A gymnasium was added to our campus in 1996 to accommodate elementary and high school P.E. classes and our growing athletic program (boys' and girls' basketball, girls' volleyball, soccer, cheerleading). Our athletes compete statewide in the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association--the boys' varsity basketball team won the state championship in 1997, was runner-up in 1998, and won the state trophy again in 1999!
